11/20/2023 0 Comments Archer ax11000Not thrilled with any of the WiFi 6 stuff in general and the "good stuff" like Ubiquiti / AmpliFi Alien stuff is relatively expensive, not updated for WiFi 6E and often out of stock and the professional stuff is just brutally expensive. The Asus XT8 works ok if the mesh is backhauled with a physical cable (this also opens up a second WiFi 6 band). My recent Netgear support experiences while helping a friend with his personal and at-work Orbi systems lead me to return the Orbi system to Costco and replace it with an Asus XT8 mesh. Netgear Orbis also do not work correctly in AP mode. Netgear also charges extreme amounts for their mesh network. ![]() ![]() I've also had trouble with firmware upgrades (RBK753/RBR750/RBS750) as well - Netgear support is totally useless. Thanks would avoid Netgear, they are trying to charge for support after 90 days, and they parental controls and antivirus/intrusion detection/security (Armor), etc, are now premium features that run out after a year. ![]() I think I'll give the Archer AX11000 a chance, and like you, wait for the 6E stuff to come down. I've been thinking about changing ecosystems altogether and switching over to the Netgear Nighthawk AXE11000, along with their extender and modem, but I'm really not wanting to spend $1200 to do all of that. Tp-link should clarify this and make the links on the website up to date with the file the GUI downloads and make it clear if 1.0 and 1.6 are different, if they are, reflect that in the GUI, and if not, just make that clear.īut other than this cosmetic issue, this has been a decent ax11000 wifi - i got this wifi as it was priced nicely at costco and is holding me off until wifi 6e matures and the ax16000 platforms are out. The v1.0 links on the support pages are more up to date but looking at the file names given it seems 1.0 and 1.6 could possibly be the same? Both the manual downloads for the 1.0 and 1.6 seem have rather poorly named files and general confusionĪlso the 1.6 manual download links are out of date but the GUI based updater works.Īrcher AX11000(US)_V1_220221 link gives filename It is as far as I can tell running 1.6 firmware. Thanks again for letting us know about something like this, as it can be very difficult to catch small things that need to be changed, or are overlooked by development teams.įeel Free to Tag Me on the Community Anytime: bought this one at costco - it works well it just displays 1.0 on the GUI rather than 1.6. For now, please feel free to use the older hardware's firmware for the newer hardware. I will also pass along feedback that you would like the GUI to indicate the correct hardware version of the product, if possible. The team appreciates you pointing this miscommunication out, and I have already requested that the firmware files for the V1.6 be updated to match the most up-to-date firmware for the 1.0. Hey you for letting us know about the firmware versions that did not match with the AX11000 V1.6 vs the AX1100 V1.0Īs you have already found out, the firmware for the V1 will work as intended with the AX11000 V1.6 – The 1.6 model is only sold in the United States, so the updated firmware was only actually uploaded for the global site, which is the more common and universally available firmware for the v1.
